Konkan Railway – A Dream Journey Which Heightens The Emotion Of Pleasure

Konkan Railway offers  its tourists a railway journey which is enveloped in scenic beauty. Operating along the Konkan Coast of India, Konkan Railway is a company of the Indian Railways. Connecting different cities, the Railway was started in the month of October in 1985.Its symbol is KR. It has two headquarters, one at Ratnagiri in Maharashtra and Karwar in Karnataka. On your journey you will enjoy a spate of water bodies and refreshing greenery. What else is necessary to be  in the lap of nature!

There is so much to capture on the route. So make sure you don't run out of film rolls.The route of the Konkan Railway is single-line track which is designed for high speed of the trains(160 km/hr). Running parallel to the mesmerizing Arabian Sea, the route is dotted with enchanting views.

The introduction of the KR has connected the two major port cities Mumbai and Mangalore which were so far unconnected. The connection of these two cities was very important as it held sheer economic importance. Due to the unevenness of the region the connection was not materializing but KR made it possible. National leaders such as Madhu Dandavate and George Fernandes played a crucial role in materializing the concept of Konkan Railway.
