Dandeli Kali Wildlife Sanctuary

Rich in flora and fauna, Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary is the largest wildlife sanctuary in Karnataka. It is a home to a wide variety of animals and birds. Some of the animals found here are elephants, wild boars, tigers, rare black panthers, crocodiles ,wild dogs, monkeys and mongoose. The wildlife sanctuary occupies an area of 834.16 sq km. The experience of traveling through its wooded trails is truly adventurous. Jeep safari is the best means of exploring this wildlife sanctuary. Team up with experienced guides and venture into the deep jungle in search of wildlife. Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary is equally rich in scenic beauty. It has steep slopes with beautiful river valleys and amazing hill forest terrain. Its flora mainly consists of Deciduous and Semi Evergreen forests. Nature lovers can indulge in several activities such as wildlife safaris, nature walks, bird watching, crocodile sighting trips, fishing, coracle boat rides, white water rafting on the Kali river and trekking.  Tented cottages are available for accommodation, to complete the outdoor adventure.

Nagarhole National Park

Nagarhole National Park is home to several interesting wildlife species. The main attractions of this wildlife are tiger, leopard, wild elephant, four-horned antelope. Some of the other wildlife species present here are mouse deer, Indian wild dog, Indian bison, spotted deer, chital, barking deer, sloth bear, mongoose and hyena. Sprawling over an area of 247 sq miles, Nagarhole National Park has a landscape with gentle slopes, shallow valleys and grassy swamps. The river in the Park attracts wildlife and offers sightseeing opportunity to the visitors. Accommodation is not a problem here. The wildlife has two rest houses, which are maintained by the  Forest Department. Well if you wish to stay in these rest houses, then book them in advance. Other accommodation options are also available near the  Nagarhole National Park.
