Rock Fort Temple
It is a cluster of three temples – the Manikka Vinayakar temple at the foot of the hill, the Uchhi Pillayar Koyil at the top of the hill and the Taayumaanavar Koyil(Shivastalam) on the hill. The history of these temples dates back to the 7th century. Even today after a spell of several centuries, they hold their old-world charm. Dedicated to lord Shiva and lord Ganesha, the temples boast of grand halls, carved pillars and peaceful ambiance. From the top of the hill you can enjoy the view of the famous rock cut cave temples situated nearby. Festivals celebrated in these temples are Brahmotsavam, Aadi Pooram and the Float Festival.
Srirangam Temple
Srirangam Temple is dedicated to lord Ranganatha, one of the forms of Lord Vishnu. It is located in Srirangam at 5 km from Trichy. It is the largest temple in India and is held in high reverence by Hindus. It is surrounded by seven fortified walls. It houses twenty one beautiful Gopurams and the tallest one towers to a height of 236 feet. It is the second largest Gopuram in Asia. You will be thrilled to see its amazingly carved sculptures and carvings touching various mythological themes.
