Kappad Beach Kerala

Kappad Beach is counted among the prime beaches of the state. Located at a distance of 16 km from the main town of? Kozhikhode, this beautiful beach is famous for its historic significance and the mesmerizing views. This is the beach that added a new chapter in the geography and history of the world. This was the beach, where Vasco da Gama, the Portuguese navigator landed and discovered India. This beach has witnessed different socio-political relationship between India and Europe.

Attractions at Kappad

Being a popular science planetarium, the place exhibits different items that are categorised on behalf of science, technology and planetarium.

Pazhassiraja Museum and Art Gallery is a complete treasure trove for those who have keen interest in history and art. The art gallery exhibits popular paintings of the famous Raja Ravi Varma (1848 ? 1906) and his uncle Raja Raja Varma. Raja Ravi Varma's work was internationally recognized and appreciated.
Managed by? State Archaeology Department, the museum displays different types of artwork, which includes mural paintings, models of temples, antique bronzes, umbrella stones, ancient coins dolmenoid cists and many other megalithic monuments.

Named after the man made lake, Mananchira, Mananchira Square attracts tourists with its landscaped lawns, open air theatre and a musical fountain. All these create a beautiful environment and make it a perfect place to sit and enjoy the time with your loved ones.

Located at a distance of around 5 Km from Kozhikode, Lokanarkavu Bhaghawathi Temple is dedicated to goddess Durga. The temple has two other shrines, out of which one is dedicated to Lord Shiva and other one is to Lord Vishnu. The legends of the region indicate that the temple is approximately 1500 old. Beautifully engraved with murals and paintings, three rock cut caves are the main attractions of the place.
