Pallikere Beach Attractions
Chandragiri Fort
At a distance of around 4 km from Kasargod, there is a village called Chandragiri. The village has a fort that is set atop a small hill. Built by Sivappa Naik of Bedano, the fort is now in its ruins. Important for archaeology and history students, the fort is a must visit place of the region.
Bekal Fort
It is amongst the largest and the best preserved forts of the state. The credit of establishment of this fort goes to Sivappa Naik of the Ikkeri dynasty. Its establishment year, 1650 attracts many tourists from far and wide. Travellers visit the fort to witness the fine architecture and evidence of the glorious history of the country. The fort covers a headland of around 35 acres of land, which runs into the Arabian sea. There is an observation tower that offers bird eye-view of the vast expanse of the sea.
Pandiyan Kallu
Historically significant, this is a rock that is rising above the sea. According to the legends, it was a ship of one of the Paldya kings, who tried to attack on a temple. Lord Shiva burnt the ship and later that ship turned into a rock. The rock got the name Pandiyan Kallu. It is an interesting place to visit. Tourists also enjoy swimming at this spot.
